Sylvester
Stallone is an American Actor, Filmmaker and Screenwriter. He was born on July 6, 1946 to
Frank Stallone and Jacqueline Stallone in New York City. His father was an
Italian immigrant and his mother half French and half German. Sylvester’s
parents divorced, when he was studied at the Wotre Dame Academy and Lincoin
High School in Philadelphia. He also studied at the American College of
Switzerland and the University of Miami, Eventually obtaining a B.A Degree.

Kitty and Stud’s” (1970). He was paid $200 for two days work. He also
appeared in the film “No Place to Hide” (1970).Stallone other few films
roles were minor and included brief uncredited appearances in “Pigeons”
(1970) as a party guest, Woody Allen’s “Bananas” (1971) as a subway
thug in the psychological thriller film “Klute” (1971). Sylvester had his second
starring role in “The Loads of Flatbush” in (1974). In 1975, he played supporting
roles in “Farewell,
My
Lovely”, “Capone” and “Death Race 2000”, “Mandingo” as an extra
dancing in a club in the Jack Lemmon film “The Prisoner of Second Avenue”.
He made guest appearances on the Tv series “Police Story” and “Kojak”.
Around this time, Stallone married Sasha Czack.

critical and commercial hit. The film went on to earn 10 Academy Award nominations,
including nods for best actor, director and picture. The film earned more than
$117 million at the box office. To follow up on his breakthrough role, Stallone
next starred as a labor organizer in “F.I.S.T” (1978) the film failed to attract
much of an audience but the same year Stallone released sports drama film “Paradise
Alley”. In 1979 he wrote, directed and starred in the sequel to his 1976 hit
“Rocky
II”. Which also became a major success and the film grossed more than
$200 million at the box office.
In 1981, he
starred alongside Michael Caine in “Escape to Victory”, a sports drama in which
he play a prisoner of war involved in a Nazi propaganda soccer game, that same
year he starred in the action thriller “Nighthawks”. He kept the franchise going a
few years later with “Rocky III” (1982). That same year Stallone
introduced a new character ‘John Rambo’ in the film “First Blood” (1982). He went
behind the scenes for his next effort “Staying Alive” (1983) which he wrote and
directed. Trying to branch out as an actor, Stallone Starred opposite Dolly
Parton in the comedy “Rhinestone” (1984), the film was a commercial and
critical failure. Fans lined up more so to see Stallone taking up trademark
roles in “Rocky
IV” (1985), “Rambo: First Blood II” (1985) and the next year
Stallone released super hit action thriller film “Cobra” (1986) and he also
starred the sports drama film “Over the Top” (1987).
In 1988,
Stallone released full action movie “Rambo III” directed by Peter Macdonald. The
film earned more than $189 million at the box office. In 1989, he
played reprising his breakout role from “Lockup” and the crime thriller film “Tango &
Cash”. Next year Sylvester released super hit blockbuster film “Rocky V”
(1990). The film earned more than $119 million at the box office. He
also starred in the comedy “Oscar” (1991) and “Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot” (1992).
In 1993,
he made a comeback with the hit film “Cliffhanger”, the film grossed $84 million
at the box office and $171 million worldwide as well as the futuristic action
flick
“Demolition Man” (1993), which co-starred Wesley Snipes and Sandra
Bullock. His string of hits continued with 1994s “The Specialist”.
In 1995,
he played the futuristic character Judge Dredd in the eponymous film “Judge Dredd”
which grossed $133 million worldwide. He also appeared in the thriller “Assassins”
(1995). In 1996, he starred in the disaster film “Daylight”. Stallone took a
supporting role in the independent drama “Cop Land” (1997) and another comedy crime
film “The
Good Life” (1997). In 1988, Stallone lent her voice to the animated
feature “Antz”
which was a big hit domestically.
In 2000,
Stallone starred in the thriller “Get Carter” but the film poorly received by both
critics and audiences. He then wrote co-produced and starred in the car racing
drama “Driven”
(2001). The film grossed more than $32 million at the box office.
Stallone next few films failed and the name is “D-Tox” (2002), “Avenging
Angelo” (2002), “Father Lefty” (2002) but the same year Stallone
released super hit big budget action thriller film “Ultimate Fights”, which was
huge success at the box office. In 2003, he played a villainous role in the
third installment of the ‘Spy Kids’ trilogy “Spy Kids3-D: Game over”.
The film earned more than $197 million at the box office and the same year
Stallone released the French film “Taxi 3” as a passenger Stallone starred to
regain prominence for his supporting role in the crime drama “Shade” (2003).
In 2005,
Stallone released the WBC reality television boxing series “The
Contender”. That same year he also made a guest appearance in two
episodes of the television series “Las Vegas”. Stallone made a comeback in 2006
with the sixth installment of his successful ‘Rocky’ series “Rocky Balboa”.
The film grossed more than $155 million at the box office. Stallone then
reprised his other action persona, ’John Rambo’. In addition to playing the
lead, he wrote and directed “Rambo” (2008). This film grossed $113 million at
the box office. In 2010, Stallone alongside Bruce Willis and Arnold
Schwarzenegger in “The Expendables” and the same year Stallone released documentary
super hit film “Inferno: The Making of the Expendables” (2010). In 2011,
Stallone reprised role in the romantic comedy film “Zookeeper”. The film grossed
more than $169 million at the box office. In 2012, Stallone starred in
the action film “Bullet to the Head” directed by Walter Hill and another action
thriller “The
Expendables 2”.
In 2013, he starred in
the action thriller “The Escape Plan” along with Arnold Schwarzenegger
and Jim Caviezel and in the sports comedy film “Grudge Match” alongside
Robert De Niro. “The Expendables 3” the third installment in the ensemble action
film series was released on 2014 and the same year Stallone released another
super hit film “Reach Me” (2014) directed by John Herzfeld. In 2015,
Stallone reprised his role as ‘Rocky Balboa’ in a spin off sequel film “Creed”
and the next year Sylvester lent her voice to the computer animated film “Ratchet &
Clank” (2016).

Lifetime Achievement Award at the Hollywood film festival in 2010.

Personal Life:
Sylvester Stallone
has married three times. He married Sasha Czack in 1974 and had two sons with
her the couple divorced almost a decade later. He then married Brigitte Nielsen
on December 15, 1985 and divorced her two years later in 1987. In 1997, he
married Jennifer Flavin with whom he has three daughters due to the demanding
nature of his roles he is known to have suffered countless injuries throughout
his career including a broken neck which required him to get a metal plate
inserted.
